"Peace Only Brings More Peace, War ONLY Brings more War" : Part 2

Submitted by Liam on Sun, 11/02/2008 - 23:17

I love this quote because it goes with pretty much anything...
I try to use this along side my "Positivity Philosphy", and so far it works...

For instace, my mother has been really sressed out lately and has been very argumentative with me, so I thought...
Maybe I should use this quote in action...
I was nice, diplomatic, and caring about the situation and to her..
After a while it turned out that she started to do the same back...
And now we are on ok terms.....

More will come on this matter...

Thanks,
Liam

I would credit your mother's

Submitted by Anonymous on Mon, 11/03/2008 - 23:48.

I would credit your mother's response less to "positivity" as I understand it and more to reciprocity, the heart of which is "as you give, so shall you receive" or "treat others as you yourself would like to be treated." I do not really think that all positive thoughts create positive responses. Sometimes, situations occur for reasons which we ourselves do not understand and may not ever understand, at least intellectually. Not all illness, for example, is a result of thinking incorrectly, or negatively. Sometimes, situations occur which may not even be "for" us, though we are bound in them, but for someone or reason outside of ourselves. Though that never puts you "off the hook" for responsible thought and action. Just my thoughts today.
